Community Early Burning Training For Forest Fire Management Conducted In Darajani Village- Liwale Village.
MCDI, FORLAND and Liwale District Council conduct training on prescribed early burning in Darajani village -Liwale District
During June 2026, Mpingo Conservation (MCDI), in collaboration with FORLAND and Liwale District Council, conducted hands-on training on prescribed early burning for community members from Darajani Village, Liwale District, who are responsible for managing their Village Land Forest Reserve.
The training aimed to strengthen community understanding and capacity in the use of prescribed early burning approch as part of sustainable forest management. This approach is one of the important methods used to reduce the impact of intensity and severity of late season wildfires, protect forest ecosystems and conserve biodiversity.
Through the practical sessions, participants gained experience in the safe and effective implementation of fire management activities, contributing to long-term forest protection and environmental resilience in Liwale District.
